ZYLAB Stainless Steel Vacuum Planetary Milling Jar
Introduction:
The ZYLAB Stainless Steel Vacuum Planetary Milling Jar is one of the core accessories for planetary ball mills, widely used in laboratories for ultra-fine powder grinding. As new materials research accelerates—especially in aerospace, advanced ceramics, and nanotechnology—processing powders at the nanoscale becomes crucial. However, nanoscale powders are highly reactive and prone to oxidation, making vacuum milling essential for safety and stability.
Constructed from high-quality stainless steel, this milling jar ensures durability, corrosion resistance, and chemical stability. Its vacuum-compatible design allows precise control of the internal atmosphere, effectively protecting reactive materials during high-speed planetary milling.
In addition to stainless steel vacuum planetary milling jars, ZYLAB also offers vacuum planetary jars with various inner liners, including PTFE (Teflon), zirconia, agate, and tungsten carbide materials. Each type is designed to meet different research and material processing needs.

Applications:
-
Nanomaterial grinding and preparation
-
Anti-oxidation experiments for sensitive powders
-
Mechanical alloying research
-
Safe milling for reactive or potentially explosive materials
-
Material synthesis under controlled vacuum conditions
Structure & Design:
-
High Vacuum Sealing: The jar features a vacuum-tight seal to maintain a controlled internal atmosphere.
-
Dual-Valve System: Two valves are installed on the jar lid—one for vacuum extraction, the other for introducing inert gas.
-
Stainless Steel Construction: Ensures long-term durability and resistance to chemical corrosion.
Usage Instructions:
-
Connect a 1L laboratory vacuum pump to the jar via one of the valves.
-
Evacuate the jar for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on jar size and pump capacity.
-
Close the vacuum valve and introduce inert gas (e.g., argon or nitrogen) through the second valve.
-
If desired, inert gas can also be used to displace air directly without vacuum extraction.
This process ensures the powders remain stable and oxidation-free during milling.
